When are rehearsals?
- Thursdays from 7:30pm-9:00pm
- There are three terms per year (Spring, Summer and Autumn) which all run for 12 weeks
Where are rehearsals?
- We rehearse at Templewood School
- Templewood School, Pentley Park, Welwyn Garden City AL8 7SD
How much does it cost?
- Upfront membership for the term is £96 – this is the cheapest way to pay and breaks down to just £8 per session!
- Pay as you go membership is £10.50 per session payable on the night via card or cash
- New joiners will only pay for the remaining weeks of the term, not the weeks they may have missed
How do I join?
- After your free taster session, a follow up email will be sent with all of the details you will need to become a member of the choir!
Do I have to have singing experience?
- Absolutely not! We welcome people of all abilities to come and sing
Do I have to audition?
- No! We firmly believe that singing is for everyone of all abilities.
What type of songs do you sing?
- Musical Melodies Choir sings songs from all of your favourite musicals.
Do I need to be able to read music?
- No, all of our choirs use sheet music with clearly printed lyrics so you have the option to do both (the majority of our members have no knowledge of how to read sheet music when they first join!)
Is there wheelchair access?
- Yes, we rehearse on the ground floor and there is a ramp into the main building and there is also a disabled toilet onsite. Please contact us if you require any further information.
Is there parking?
- Yes, there is the school carpark and you are also able to park on the road.
Do I need to bring anything to rehearsal?
- We recommend bringing a water bottle in case you get thirsty, although we do provide refreshments in the middle of our rehearsals.
- Please bring along any music that has been provided in previous rehearsals.
Do you run during school holidays?
- Musical Melodies choir runs through half term. We do take a break over Christmas, Easter and the summer holidays.
Do you perform in public?
- Yes, throughout the year we perform locally although there is no pressure for any of our members to be involved in the concerts.
Do I need a T-Shirt?
- You only need a t-shirt for Musical Melodies Choir if you are performing in a public concert. These can be purchased at rehearsals.
How do I access the resources?
- At rehearsals you will be provided with your own copies of the pieces. You will also be able to find recordings on our website of all parts to the songs in our repertoire via our member section. Details of how to access this section will be emailed to you when you join.
